How to register your company with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce
In order for your business to actively operate in the Netherlands, you need to register it at the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK).
Registration and legal structures
During the registration of your business with the KvK, you have to choose the legal structure of your company. The various application forms for the legal structures for businesses you can find on their website. The way you can deliver your application to the KvK depends on the legal structure that you chose. For example, some applications can simply be delivered via post (you must include a legible copy of a valid ID) but others have to be delivered in person and hence require you to make an appointment. You can book your appointment here.
Keep in mind that the business legal structures that are considered as legal persons – e.g. BV and Cooperative – have to be formalized by a civil-law notary. Also, don’t forget that you can always approach your facilitator for detailed help for your KvK registration!
